the 'light flow' series, which 'ions II' and 'soft interior II' are part of, was created without the use of analogue film. instead, pieces of glass were scanned at high resolution where the actual scanning light caused reflections and 'breaks' within the glass and therefore also on the final scan.

fractions of these reflections of plain white light, which appeared on the created digital image in its actual spectral colours, were taken and magnified up to very high percentages to virtually come even 'closer' to the real essence of light.

the proportions could be compared to a normal envelope, 120 x 230 mm in size (the glass formation) and a needle top, approx. 0.01 mm in diameter (the printed image).

this project is part of my attempt to gain more comprehensive knowledge about the visual essence of light,
about light's actual manifestation as a visually perceptive appearance.
