EUROPEAN MONTH OF PHOTOGRAPHY

As part of the European Month of Photography Linda will be showing her recent series Nebula in a 3D modeling multimedia collaboration together with F8! in Galerie Ruth Maier, Vienna from 21 November to 5 December 2008.

In this new extension of the series, a 3D-tracking video installation will add calculated yet fluid movement and forms to Linda's images; speaking about the culturally surprisingly undefined nature of human perception.

Over Easter Linda's work will be on display in three group exhibitions, both in Australia and overseas:

"Fear, Masks & New Beginnings" will show at the Toyota Community Spirit Gallery in Port Melbourne,

In the Vaasa Arthall in Finland Linda's new work will be exhibited alongside 3 fellow resident artists Katarina Sevic (HU), Vera Maglioni (I) and Pirko Julia Schröder (D)

EXHIBITION AT GALLERI IKON, STOCKHOLM

Joakim Hansson and Linda Sim will be exhibiting new works of their recent collaboration OBFUSCATED BUOYANCY at Galleri Ikon, Stockholm from 14th - 29th April 2007. On display will be 2 series of photographs on rag paper, created during their artist residency at Kunstnerhuset in the Lofoten Islands/Norway in February this year. ARTIST RESIDENCY IN FINNISH STYLE

During November and December 2006 Linda will focus on the creation of images for Miuki Miura’s fable “The Story of The Sea” whilst being the Artist in Residence of Svenska Konstskolan in Nykarleby, Finland. The polar winter months will provide her with an excellent environment of seclusion at the east shore of the Gulf of Bothnia. The book will be published in Japan.

   
BILLBOARD ART IN SPRING

SubUrban Art Project, which will display Linda's and other artist's work on signboards this spring, is hosted by the 2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival, running from 27th September to 15th October. The artwork is brought out of the conventional gallery environment and exhibited in prominent public areas throughout the suburbs of Hobsons Bay, spanning a total of 15 sites. Linda's image 'sita' is located at the shore of Cherry Lake, Altona; Melway Reference 54 K9. The signboards will remain installed until the end of December.
   
DESERT WORK

In July 2006 Linda will leave for a month-long journey to India: Being her third visit to the Indian Subcontinent, she will travel solo to the remote deserts in western Rajasthan and Ladakh in the Himalaya for the creation of new work.
   
COCOON AT THE NEW ALTONA MEADOWS LIBRARY

In March 2006 the group exhibition Cocoon will open, for which Linda has been asked to contribute her new work, the Genesis series, alongside 5 other artists. The exhibition will formally open the new $4.2 million state-of-the-art Altona Meadows Library, which will host Cocoon from March 3 to April 7, 2006.
   
FEATURED ARTIST ON MAKING PHOTOGRAPHS

Video Education Australasia released their new educational film Making Photographs in late 2005, which contains Linda as one of their featured artists. VEA distributes its programs to universities, schools, libraries and other training institutions across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
   
RESIDENCY AT THE NORTHERN POLAR CIRCLE

For May and June 2005 Linda has been invited to be the artist in residency at Ricklundgarden, Saxnas. Designed by Folke Ricklund in the 1940s as a Nordic centre of fine art in the heart of Lappland, it has hosted hundreds of artists over the decades and today provides meeting point for exhibitions, project development and cultural heritage. Her stay in the northern Swedish mountains will encompass 4 weeks and provide a retreat for the creation of new work.
   
2005 ARTIST IN RESIDENCY AT SLV

In 2005, Linda will be the artist in residency at the State Library of Victoria. She will use the research based program to explore how society can re-define its position in the evolution of this world in order to create a more self-sustainable approach to life as we know it. The residency will be concluded with an exhibition of artwork at the Experimedia, the new media space at the State Library of Victoria.
   
SOLO IN THE ATRIUM

The Atrium Gallery in the Incinerator Arts Complex will host Linda's coming solo show in March 2005. On display will be her large format digital pigment prints, comprising a survey of her work of 2004 during which she travelled through numerous countries from canada to malaysia. She calls it "a piece of resolution".
