What is Naked ADSL? It's a broadband service with no associated telephone service. (It isn't doing rude things with your computer!) That means that once we get the Naked Service going, you no longer have a phone line. This is great for savings, because you no longer have to pay line rental on your phone. Choose one of our great value Mobile Phone plans for your telephone needs. For more traditional type calls, we have VoIP services coming soon Naked ADSL isn't for everyone though. Because you don't have an active phone line, your back to base alarm won't be able to call in an emergency, & your medical alarm won't work either. Naked ADSL2+ is only provided to customers who currently have an active copper line (Customer must be able to make AND receive phone calls). The Naked ADSL2+ plan is provided as an Unbundled Local Loop Line (ULL) only. After the ULL Naked ADSL2+ is installed on the nominated service number, the phone line will be disconnected. You then will not be able to use any services that require a dial tone to operate. This includes fax, back to base alarm, PABX. Other things to be aware of that use dialtone include Premium Movie on Demand from such services as Foxtel. The service number can also not be retrieved as the number will be put into quarantine. Naked ADSL2+ is only available in the geographical areas which are covered by the Optus ADSL2+ Network. Provision of Naked ADSL2+ is subject to Service Qualification Check upon registration. Naked ADSL2+ application takes approximately 10 to 20 working days for the connection to occur, depending on your location.
